I use wget, it doesnt make things go faster but it does allow you to continue partial downloads. Flashget is good tho. DAP (download accelerator plus) sucks, plus you have to pay to get the all the options.

downloadthemall! is good aswell
I'm not liking freedownload manager. its a pain (its flashget but less so)

I actually like the freedownloadmanager. It integrates with Opera and IE really well and it seems to do the job I want it to..

Free Download Manager, its pretty darned good for the cost of it. As has been said it integrates well with FF, IE and Opera. And I think I might have achieved a long standing aim of mine with FDM in getting it to ignore downloads smaller than 5Mb. Even on my 512Kb Uni line anything smaller than 5Mb isn't much to worry about.

Flashget it's awesome, free and un complicated. especially with the flahget plug-in for firefox.

excellent tool, you can set it to download all links on a website to a certain folder -good for porn preview sites

I use reget and net transport.

Reget for multiple items. Net transport for single large downloads.

Free Download Manager does the trick for me. Never really felt the need to try any others.
