Going from corsair sp120s wanting a change perferly all black fans
Quite like the Ek ones. Going on 2 480s would like a balance noise/ performance.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've had good results with Akasa Apache blacks - caveat though I bought quite a few for a build and found that not all of them performed as well sound wise - none were bad but some were pretty much inaudible til I put them over ~1km rpm whereas others were as audible as as any other fan once I was up over ~700rpm.

EDIT: Maybe not the best choice for pushing air through a rad though - decent for getting a volume of air into a case but there are better where the airflow is obstructed.

I'm not a fan of the NB E-Loops, even on reduced voltage (<5V) they have an annoying noise. Not tried EK, and Noctua's newest fans.

I've got a thing for the Parvum F1.0 and the Alpenföhn Wing Boost fans, on 5V they're inaudabile, whilst still offering fairly alright performance (for the speed the fans are running, comparable to other fans at the same speed)

I've not ran any tests :( I'm a noise freek, so willing to sarcrifice perfomance for noise.

I've done tests on most of the fans recommended here. The OcUK Silverstone FQ121WC are good for the money, whereas the EK Vardar fans are fantastic from performance/noise at a higher cost. The be quiet Silent Wings 2 is about the quietest fan (at same RPM) I have tested out and does reasonably well in performance also.

Thanks guys for the info really helpful and yup some of those fans are expensive!
The little adapters that come with the corsairSp fans can they be used with other fans?

I've got 2 x noiseblocker NB-eloop B12-2 as intakes for my case, they are running at 800rpm and are silent. I've tried them on a pushing on a rad and they sound fine, very little noise. Pulling is a different storey though, put anything in front of them and they sound like a Dyson.

Which adapters bud?

As for the original question, the only input I can give is that Noctuas have gone downhill. I was a huge fanboy and had a case filled with P12s and F12s and used em on my rads when I first did my loop. The temps were kinda stupid so I looked into alternatives and found Arctic cooling F12s were a good low cost option. Bought 5 for the price of 1 new NF-F12 and replaced the Noctuas which I then sold. Temps dropped, noise dropped and PayPal balance increased!

let us know how they do when you get them installed. iam thinking of replacing 3 swiftech helix with vardars if they perform well, but i want to wait till i hear a few user reviews first

Used GT1850, NB-eLoops, SP120 and EK Vardars F2 & F1.

I have to say that Vardar are the best of all as rad fans, but if you'd like better aesthetics, Phobya NB eLoop Black edition are very nice as well

Grabbed 14 of the EK furious Vardars the red sleeving will go well with the cable management.

I also have these and i only run them full whack and the noise is ok, once tamed i'm sure noise levels will be fine. They push some good air and a definite rival to the undisputed king of fans the GT1850's. Recommended. ;)

You run 3kRPM fans flat out all the time? Are you some kind of (deaf) mentalist?!
