recomend me a case for around £50 please

Nah the 300 simply is not worth 46 sheets of anybodies money. Ive built about 20 machines using it and hated every single one.

Its a £30 case at best and I dunno why people keep recommending it as it good budget case because it simply isn't.

For slightly more the Coolermaster CM690 offers far more space, practicality, better build quality, superior cable management and more fans placement options.

+1 to this, Antec 300 isn't anything particularly special for the money

Fan placements are:

Should come with 2 or 3 fans if I remember (all 3 pin adaptors) but I would recommend swapping them out and getting some S-FLEX 1200RPM's.

Possible fan placements as below:

1 rear
2 above the motherboard
1 in the base
1 in the front
1 on the side

Hope that helps fella..:D

Oh and thats a 4870 1gb in there and look at the space between the back of the card and the HDD bays. The Antec 300 can only just fit these cards.

Personally that does look the best case for the price but I wouldn't say that £50 is enough for a case nowadays especially if you're planning to overclock an i7.

It's good though to have those 2 sides

Actually, the CM-690 is a brilliant case, its going to be in my next build for sure.

Spend the extra £1.99 and get the CM-690

Same, if that was an option when i got my antec i would have taken it. I payed just over £40 for my antec, and the CM-690 was something like £55 at the time and i was already over budget :P

How much air flows across the hard drives? the front fan seems to be blocked by the mounting assembly?

Do all the fan's have built in filters?

Enough air flowed through the HDD cage and the drive only ever felt warm to the touch.

There's a filter on the front fan and a filter mounted in the bottom of the case (where the Noctua is on my pic) though no fan comes pre-installed there, they are the only 2 filters that come with it..
