recomend me a comedy series

Spaced!!!!! - Collector's DVD is out in two weeks
Blackadder
Fawlty Towers
Alan Partridge
Father Ted

I'm not one for American comedies except Frasier and I also hear My Name is Earl is brilliant.

Well the winner has just got to be Only Fools and Horses but I've been watching Fawlty Towers as well recently which is definatley second in line :D

Father Ted is easily the most funniest comedy series ever. Everyone should have the complete series in there collection.

I've definitely "LOL"ed more watching Father Ted than anything else, but I've been much more into Red Dwarf, Spaced, Peep Show etc, because they're much cleverer. I'm not sure you can rate a comedy just on immediate laughs....

Which is why OFAH stands out so much  The way John Sullivan writes and integrates the episodes means that one small thing in one episode will become entirely relevant again years later. Combine that with his ability to turn tears to laughter and laughter to tears so easily and you have a winner. (All of course helped by the brilliant acting throughout the show :p )

I'm going to say it again, just because I'm watching it at the moment and it really is great: Peep Show. It doesn't seem underrated looking at this thread but it never had as much recognition compared to other great comedies like the Office. Anyone know if they're making a new series? They must be as Mark and Sophie are engaged! :D

Black aaaaaaadder
Phoenix Nights - I've watched it so many times it's not really funny anymore :(

scrubs ***.

Also (i know this is not a comedy) but i've just finished watching prison break and it is VERY good. Better than 24 imho.

black adder, any of them!!!!!!!!! apart from 'back and forth' awful!!!

Agreed, ignore my previous trollop. Though I still stand in saying that Blackadder isn't really what the OP is after
Curb your Enthusiasm is a good suggestion, can't really think of much else, other than the obvious comedy classics.
