Hello me again  well i will have UP TO £170 to spend on a graphics card next week friday and has to include in the price and the P&P :o ,

Been looking at the EVGA / Nvidia geforce gtx460s..and they been having problems with driver issues..or is that some make of cards cards? also been looking at the 6850s ...or what card do you recommend.

It will replace my 5770 1GB DDR5.

As i'm asking now..so when the time comes i can buy it straight away with out searching for one.

sorry to ask again..just want to know now before the time comes in buying one :) :o

You won't get that much of a gain but the 6850 is most likely your best bet as it's not that far of the 460 and because you have a CF board it would make more sense by giving you a upgrade option.

True..i did a upgrade to the pc components..so i could xfire...yeh .if it did work..would 2 cards work off my psu? or do i have to upgrade it?

So far of all the 6850, Gigabyte's 6850 seem to have the best custom cooler (the twin-fan cooler like what they used for their GTX460). I've bought one for my friend and it's been sitting in my room for the pass couple of days unopened. Will take the card to him tomorrow and have a look at the card first hand...will let you know how it is if you wish.

Here's a link if you are interested to have a look for now:

Make your mind up ;)

Another 5770 isn't a bad idea in the short term but would mean when he wants to upgrade again, (which he would want to do with 2 5770's) he would end up spending more overall.

I think a 6850 isn't as good as 2 5770's. but i agree that it will cost him more in lkong term unless he is really happy with the xFire

OHh yes please ^.^ that would be nice of you..want to know how that card is.. i have been looking at it for ages now..then i went looking at different makes..was debating..change with Nvidia or stay with ATI. have had a 4870 1GB DDR5 RIP wish it didn't died!

Unless that cooler is quieter then there is no point as the 6850 is one of the coolest running cards out ATM.

Well my 5770 cooler was a little wiggly when i got it..had no problems since june/july time of having it.2 weeks ago the cooller fell off from cleaning the inside of my pc o.o

so wanting to replace the whole card for something else..you know have a change..

You clearly haven't seen people's praise for Gigabyte's cooler's quietness on their GTX460. Also Gigabyte got a UK based address, so RMA service should be less of a headache that those that based in other Europe area. Also I'll take Gigabyte's brand over brands such as Palit or Gainward anytime.
