Recomend me a graphics card..confused.

Gigabyte HD 6870 can be got for £180 ish so can a GTX 470 Personally I'd save a bit more and get a £183 gtx 470 from this very site.

EIther get another 5770 preferably a second hand one for £70-£80 or a GTX 470.

Just to make you confused even more :p
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-104-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1810

This has a much better cooler than the stock cooler of the standard GTX470, not only it will keep it cool, but it will be much quieter as well. Overclock it to 820~850MHz and it will be faster than a stock speed GTX480. Personally if I get this over 6870 etc...just the custom cooler alone would worth the little extra (around £10, and you get the free download voucher for the full game of Mafia II as well), and when it comes to overclocking and the gain, the 6870 simply can't compete with the GTX470.

You clearly haven't seen people's praise for Gigabyte's cooler's quietness on their GTX460. Also Gigabyte got a UK based address, so RMA service should be less of a headache that those that based in other Europe area. Also I'll take Gigabyte's brand over brands such as Palit or Gainward anytime.

the less you know the better all i will say is 6 month stints, container, warehouse, long hours, soldering iron and spare parts

what bout the msi 5850? or if im feeling merry ill get the msi 470 but i hear them cards sounds like a aircraft lifting off :P

Not the MSI version, the ones with the stock HSF do.

If your spending £200, then the MSI 470 is definately the one for you!

ok will do..yeah i might get the msi 470 after all..seems like it will last longer and benefit me more i guess...

I try to stay away from saying something is "future proof", TBH nothing is. But that will last a good few years, especially when you can easily clock it to similar speeds of a £330 card. (480)

Never heard of any 460's having any driver issues.

To sum this thread up, if you want to spend £200 get the 470, if you only want to spend ~£150 then get the 460 baring in mind you have a CF Mb so you shuold really be aiming for the best NV card as possible cos you cant sli them later!
