Hi all

Got a Netgear DG834G router and I connect a laptop wirelessly (802.11b). I also connect my Desktop via the RJ45 port. I want to make the desktop connect wirelessly so can you recommend a card/USB connector that will work well with this router

Thanks in advance

Hi mate,

I posted this question (about which wireless card) a few days a go and got no responses. :( So I thought'd I'd reply. :p

Don't get the Belkin Wireless-G 125Mb Card. I did, and returned it the next day after about 2 hours faffing around trying to get it to work properly.

It literally wouldn't detect the network unless the router was in the same room, yet my laptop can go around the entire house fine. So I won't recommend this card.

However! What I do like the look of is the Abit AirPace card, with the aerial on the cable. So I am going to be purchasing that in the next few days to see if it's any better. :)

Hi mate,

Well it arrived and it's all up and working. I was shocked at how small the thing actually is. I took two pics for you, one of the actual card compared to the driver cd and the other of the aerial on top of my bookshelf speaker.

The length of the aerial cable is probably just under 1m in length. So basically just enough to go from a PC on to a desk (plus a little bit more).

I have not moved my Router away from the aerial atm, when I do tonight, I'll post back with what it's like. Atm it's performing the same as when I was wired to the Router, which is good. :)

Pics.... (from mobile phone, sorry)
