Hi, i have an overclocked E8400, currently at 389 x 9 = 3.5 GHz, and im currently running 3 GB of 667 MHz Geil value ram, they are now at 778 MHz, and this is there limit, i want to overclock further so im looking for some decent 800+ Mhz ram that can clock well if needed and can have low timings e.g. 4-4-4-12, and recommendations? also is it worth getting 4 x 1 GB or 2 x 2 Gb, which is best for performance and overclocking? thanks for your help.

cool, ok, is 2 x 2GB better to go for then? and also my mobo (maximus formula) does not have an option for fsb:dram ratio but it can choose what speed to run the ram at e.g. 667, 800 etc, would i need to set this manually to 1066? otherwise it will probably be set to 667 by the motherboard.

Ive also been looking at these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-023-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817

Does anyone know whether these are any good?

I prefer 2x2GB, they hold their value better and you can add more RAM should you need to in future.

The RAM you linked to is 2x1GB and pretty expensive, C2D doesn't benefit much from massively high RAM speed, you're better off with 4GBs of overclocked PC6400 or PC8000 than 2x1GB of faster stuff.

In that case you're limited as Vista 32bit can only see 4GBs of RAM max, and you loose about 512Mb-1Gb of that depending on how much memory your graphics card has.

The Geil Black Dragon stuff is decent, I've got mine to 850Mhz, with stock voltage and timings, and people are apparently pushing it much higher with loser timings.
