I currently have a laptop from a company that... specialises... in custom made PCs and Laptops. It's got an i7 3820QM 2.8GHz Ivybridge Quad Core CPU and an Nvidia GTX650 2GB video card and a 720p screen. Despite being cleaned out (fan) annually it is hotter and louder than ever, not to mention having to work quite hard in Windows 10 with the fan constantly having to spin up. I run it at 99% CPU power management setting which disables turbo, so it only runs at 2.8GHz instead of turboing up to 3.4 just so it stays under 80c on the desktop. It is also only really good for games up to 2017 or so.
Anyway I'm looking to upgrade it with a 14" gaming laptop but certainly not super high end or anything. I'm thinking 1080p 60Hz and a budget of £1000 but other than that I am a bit in the dark with laptop chips. I'd like it to be able to run the latest games at low or medium settings and older AAA games like Fallout 4 at high or ultra settings.
What would you recommend?
