Recommend a 3d modelling program

I've found the 2d 'sketches' part of 360 to be excellent for drawings so far :)

It does look very powerful, watched a few tutorials and can't help feeling its a bit much for some woodworking projects. I don't need rendering or anything like that, just drawing to scale with written measurements that respond to changes in the design. I guess you can just use the features you need though and while the parameters settings look complicated at first it does allow you to space things like shelving easily. Thing is I need to teach this to someone who has less patience than me and can't see them going for it.

I don't work for them honest! But once again I'd recommend SketchUp for this, it's what I originally used it for.

Didn't SketchUp used to be a free desktop program? I can only see free access to the a web based version now.

Rather than start a new thread would Fusion 360 or Sketchup be recommended for designing some wood work projects? It looks a bit advanced when really I just want something to draw to scale and add measurements / angles etc.

Currently doing it in Illustrator but its not really designed for that.

Do you want 2D? Try Draftsight.
