Recommend a card?

I am looking at getting a card to play newish games on medium graphics that can also speed up rendering times on Sony Vegas.

Does anyone know of such a miracle card for under £80?

This is my current build:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
Gigabyte H61MA-D3V Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Kingston Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G)

Anyone else got any suggestions? Want to have a few to look at to shop around or at least a few of you saying that the same one is the best option, I'm quite a novice when it comes to this stuff

6850 around your budget. Go for a 6870 though if you can push for it. Best performance to money ratio card around at the moment.

It isn't like that in this price bracket I'm afraid.

The nVidia 460 cards are the only other option you've really got but they're hard to get and a 6870 are better performing anyway.

Haha so my only choice is to get a second hand 6870 in my budget or push the boat out and get a brand new one?

well don't 6950's float anywhere from £95-£110 I'd say that was the best bang for buck at the moment and for the sake of £15-£20 I would hang on for a second hand 6950 2gb that or a second hand 560

Agreed. If u r going second hand, then 6950 is the better bit and a bit more future proof, especially 2GB

Probably second hand for a bit more. But yeah if you are going second hand you can get a better card than the 6870. But the 6870 is still the best bang for buck card at the moment. It's cheaper second hand than it is new obviously so the same principle applies.
