Recommend a good compact

Hey Guys, looking for a spare shooter thats a bit more compact than a DSLR.

I was thinking about the Pentax MX-1 or the Panasonic TZ40.

What do you think? Any other recommendations?

P.S. I'm not a hardcore photo-head and my budget is sub-£300.

Nikon P330. Just got one myself. Seems to tick most of the boxes for me.

I'm also look at the tz40 (especially with the cash back offer). I've been using a tz20 for a couple of years now but its starting to show its age.

Also worth taking a look at the Canon PowerShot SX280 HS

For my money I'd get the Canon Ixus S120 it is a top end compact that fits in your pocket the Sony equivalant is even better if your budget will stretch to it rx110 I believe is the latest, I've always thought if it won't fit in my jeans pocket I might as well be carrying an SLR.

You can get a Canon G16 for £320 if you are okay with a grey import (you still get 1yr warranty). Great camera.
