Hey guys, kinda bored at the moment and I'm looking for an RPG to play. Something that plays like Dragon Age or like the combat in an mmo, something with a lot of depth that I can keep playing for some time.

Really wanting something I can play to pass the time until A Realm Reborn releases.

I'm not interested in Skyrim or The Witcher.

Thanks.

Dark Souls seems good but from what I've heard it's not a very good port and I also don't have a gamepad. Not really a Star wars fan and Kingdom of amular looks a little too ARPG ish for me.

I'm fussy :D

You've heard wrong. Console versions are limited to 30fps and this PC version is the same. It actually performs better and nearly always keeping the fps at a constant 30fps(through brute processing power I imagine), whereas with consoles, i.e. in Blighttown this drops below 30fps. Also there is a true 1080p res mod on the PC so that it looks great, plus DLC at no extra cost.

In what area is the console superior? not having to buy the controller is the only plus I can think of.

I'm not really a fan of sword and sorcery rpg's despite having been an avid D&D / AD&D player when I was younger, but I heartily recommend Dark Souls. It's easily the best I've played so far. :)

arx fatalis
Legend of Grimrock
Sacred 2
Divinity Anthology
Fallen Enchantress
Risen 1 & 2
Torchlight II
Diablo III
Two Worlds II

i could go on, played and loved them all, plus most of whats been mentioned above tbh

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is not bad at all. The story elements can be a bit weird but combat is pretty good! Must get back to that actually, chakrams are great!

I'm pining for another Neverwinter Nights game to be honest. Unlikely to happen now though, what with Bioware being in the belly of the beast. :(

its a shame your not interested in the witcher 2, is this as you have already played it?

i got it without playing the first and to my suprise its one of the best RPG's i have ever played. its kind of like game of thrones in terms of characters and story stuff. best graphics to this day for me aswell!

i have dragon age on my desk and have never payed it! brought it on release when i had a crappy system that didnt play it too well, how does that hold up today?

other than that people love the Mass effects but i find the gameplay is a bit stale and the 3rd game was balls

Kingdoms of Amalur is ment to be great and might suit what you are after, but as a side note the dev team has since closed down so dont expect any further DLC or sequels anytime soon but im sure someone will pick up the ip

I honestly don't understand why Kingdoms of Amalur gets such a slating all over t'interweb. I honestly think it's a great game, even if it is a bit odd sometimes. Combat is satisfying and the game world is beautiful.

I've played Dark Souls on both Xbox and PC. PC version looks and performs so much better. Yes you do have to download a mod but it's real small/easy and simple to setup.

I sunk 150 hours gameplay into Kingdoms of Amalur and it was very enjoyable. Got through about 1/2 of the total quests but started skipping to the end once onto the second main Island. Recommended Game.
