Recommend a Good Screwdriver Set

I have a 6 piece set of Wera Kraftform 300 screwdrivers. Does the job perfectly. Not come across a normal household DIY task where I've needed to buy another screwdriver yet. I'd recommend a set of hex keys though.

Wera laser tip are the best I have used. Not had a cam-out with one yet. Worth the extra over cheaper drivers imo.

Err, I know that. The Clarke comes with a selection. Pz2 and ph2 are the most commonly used sizes if you're needing bits.

I really like the look of Wera products and hope to pick some up in the Christmas/January sales. They seem to be very well regarded but can be quite expensive.

I'm considering getting a Wera mini-ratchet with Hex Plus bits instead of the keys as it looks far more convenient in use.

I use Wera drivers for work, Had the smallest of them snap (the tip) and the laser tips don't last too long. But for DIY i'd imagine they are great.

Yeah I and all the sparks on jobs use wera. For the money hard to beat.

Normally get a cheap hilka set too for those jobs where you know going to knacker a screwdriver. (like hammering off a locknut)

Sone, have you tried the yellow Wera range (chisel drivers)? They're meant to be quite hard wearing. The metal runs all through the handle and they have impact caps on the end for hammering.

I bought a set of blue hilka's like that. Lasting pretty well and only a tenner.

I have a set of wera electronics screw drivers that I'm very happy with, planning to pick up a set of hex keys at some point too.

We use wera screwdrivers at work and the only issue we have with them is when some guys seem to assume the a PH00 is designed for as much torque as a PH2 and snap the tips off...

Bumping. After shouting erratically at my computer while trying to screw things down with a stubby and chunky screwdriver I come seeking advice.

I need a decent long necked magnetic end screwdriver set. Both star and flat heads. So they can reach to the parts down behind my heatsink that my bear paws simply can't get to without skinning myself. The more inches in the shaft the better (HONK HONK!).

I do have a screwdriver with extensions, but it's not magnetic, which renders the thing absolutely useless because it neither holds the extension piece properly, or the screw bit which negates the entire point of the thing and ends up with it falling apart mid job. Which is what caused the shouting when on the third attempt to unscrew a motherboard screw it fell apart and I had to flip the entire case upside down and shake it until the bits and screw fell out.

Nothing more annoying that a screwdriver you want magnetic. Buy a tool to make them magnetic ;) As in this thread Wera are meant to be the best bang for buck, you should be able to find the right bit and one thats long enough.

Cheers fellas. Had a look on Amazon and they have a few 300mm Wera sets so have ordered a couple.

Buy a tool to make them magnetic ;)

Can you elaborate more on this though? I just want the tip to hold the screw, don't want to charge the thing so hard that it gives my board an EMP blast when it goes near it :p
