I was going to recommend the sidewinder x4/g400 combo but this would be much better if you don't need backlit keys.

just fyi, its missing the numpad. the mk50 is full size and 5 quid cheaper too =x

I've got the Sidewinder X4 myself, very nice keyboard for the price IMO.
I did have a SteelSeries Sensei Pro mouse last week, however I didn't like the shape and it was fault so I returned it. I'm now thinking of getting the Roccat Kone XTD instead, has very good reviews online.

G400 and the QuickFire Rapid. Both are very good, and with being a tenkeyless keyboard, there is more space on your desk.

But all of those in question will work with Windows 8.

I've just bought a G400 mouse to use on my second system. I use a G9 on my main machine. I'm really liking the G400 and it was so much cheaper!
