Recommend a Keyboard!

I recently upgraded my computer to a 2500K system and am very happy.

I bought a new mouse and a new screen not to recently too and the only think that is left over from my 2003 athlon xp build is my Microsoft media keyboard.

Please could you recommend a keyboard with some of the below features:

-Sub £100
-stylish (non of this over the top gaming stuff) Blegh
-Multi media keys (if possible)
-Back lighting would be nice

I game, mostly on skyrim and eve online atm.

Typing is mainly for forums and ingame chat. no essays or blogging.

Have you considered a mechanical keyboard? With that budget I'm guessing you must have thought about it.

If yes, the next step is to choose your switch type. i.e. Black, red brown. Since you game a lot it might be nice to have function keys and backlighting, but boards under £100 with that are not particularly numerous.

The Ozone Strike is decently priced and not too in your face. Steelseries 7G might be even better.

Personally I'm looking at a FILCO Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless, which weighs in a bit over budget (£114) and short on features, but is top notch quality and with a choice of Blue, Brown or Black switch. Very stylish though. Depends what you want, but with that budget mechanical will be the best way to go as they last longer and tend to be less gimmicky, which sounds like what you want.

If not mechanical, any £15 Microsoft/Logitech offering as there's not much point in paying 3-4 times that for an all-singing-all-dancing gaming keyboard unless you really need macro keys and backlighting. Not everyone will agree with that, but think about it for yourself I guess.

I was thinking about the razor blackwidow what do you think? just wish it had brown or black switches.

There is a mechanical keyboards thread and I think some owners have posted comments in there. If you're not getting the silent version, I hear they're quite loud (I'm guessing Blue switch), so that might be annoying.

How about the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard?

I love mine, very stylish IMO

The back lighting is a nice touch!

yeah looks good, but the new one is the same cost of a mechanical keyboard.

Theres a stealth edition of it which is brand new but not out anywhere yet apart from razers own store online. It has the quieter switches on it.

I'm not actually sure mate. I asked OcUK to try and stock these about 2 weeks ago now and they are still on it. Ask in the customer service part of the forum and see if they can quote you a price and ETA for them
