Hey guys, I know nothing about monitors and have been using a really old Dell (1280x1024 ) for months since I moved house, it has not been pleasant. So I thought I would consult some experts ;)

If you had £200 spare to buy the best possible monitor which one would you go for? I would prefer 27" but could settle for smaller if there is good reason to. It would be used mainly for gaming and occasionally watching Movies/TV/YouTube stuffs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Not entirely sure about the advantages or disadvantages of IPS over other panels tbh Turner.

Thanks Yonathan, if I can spare a bit extra I will go for that but there's a good chance it will need to be £200 or under. A more patient man would wait for the one you suggested to drop to £200. I am not a patient man :p

I really should have made some time at work and just researched this earlier, took me about 20mins to learn some stuff and figure out which one to go for. Going for the LG 23EA63V 23" IPS LED, mainly because I could really use a RAM upgrade as i'm still on 4GB believe it or not :p

So 8GB of RAM + a 23" monitor for around £200 :)

Thanks anyway guys, sorry for the apparently unnecessary thread!

Also apparently the bezel is not nearly as thin as it looks in the pictures. LG released a statement apologising if they mislead people but so many places still show the picture of a bezel around 2-4mm so that hasn't done much good for them

It's still pretty thin though and a nice monitor, shame about the stand but it will either be that or the 23" Acer H236HLbmid :)
