Could I get some recommendations for a mouse as I've had 4 Microsoft mice in the last 4 years and they have all developed a fault within 1 year of use, so Microsoft is a no no.

prefer a wireless with a long battery life and a chargeable mouse us fine as well.
 
Razer Mamba if you want to fork out for it, had one for a few days and it's great, I assume you're looking for one for gaming (looking at your rig).

It's wireless (it's main selling point is that its a wireless gaming mouse) it doesn't lag like other wireless mice do.

Also it has a awesome looking dock for charging on. Check it out ;)
 
+1 for razer mamba for wireless needs.
I've had a deathadder from razer for about 5-6 years now and its got nothing wrong with it.
So razer for build quality are the tops for me.
[Just got a Roccat and its got a dented LED and OC webnote people are being a right *** heads with me returning it.
alread 4 webnotes and each one keeps asking WAS IT LIKE THIS WHEN YOU GOT IT!
Sorry pointless rant.]
