I need a Bluetooth speaker for my elderly Dad. I got him a Bluetooth transmitter for his TV with Bluetooth headphones, but he can't get on with the headphones, so need a speaker instead. However, it needs to stay permanently powered and connected and never break the link to the transmitter when the TV is switched off. The transmitter will be permanently powered even with the TV off though, so that end should never go down, but I would need a speaker that will stay paired to the transmitter and not go into any kind of sleep state which would require a button to be pressed to bring it back to life so to speak. Having him fumble for a button would too much got him unfortunately.
The reason for the all this is he tends to switch the TV on in the middle of the night and turn the sound up to ridiculous levels, waking my sister who lives with him. The headphones would have been ideal, but a wireless speaker right next to him is probably the only other option.
