Not sure where to put this question but seems to be more projector talk in here!

I have been asked to look at a new projector for our conference room at work, but I have no idea really of what is good etc.

Needs to be full HD (1920x1080) and suitable for displaying laptop output of mainly static content rather than video.
Must have HDMI and I have been asked to look at outputs of around 3000 lumens.
Longevity and reliability more important than getting the cheapest.

Any help please :)

I've used Optoma and Mitsubishi in high duty cycle commercial installations over the last 7 years.

I replaced an Optoma last year that I installed in a museum back in 2007. It was on 6 days a week, an average of 8hrs a day plus for 6 years and racked up something like 15,000 hrs. The colour wheel was replaced at about 8,000 hrs. Other that that I just serviced and calibrated it regularly and put in new lamps. The new projector is an Optoma too, just more up to date.

Thanks for that.
I've just had a look at the Optoma website. Seems to be a decent range depending on budget.
Not sure what models you fitted, but the EH300 or DH1011 seem to be decent specs and seem around £700 so not bad price wise.
I assume the 3D functionality does not affect normal 2D content?

Available budget for the projector was around £1500. Video performance was the priority (black level, contrast, colour accuracy, motion provessing) rather than outright brightness. I didn't need to spend that much for the client to get great performance. The Optoma HD30 ticked all the boxes for £400 less. The previous model was a HD72.

2D and 3d can be thought of as separate functions.
