Hi,
Going to order a new pc next Friday. I have a budget of around £2200 and am looking for a system that will mainly be used for gaming. I'd like it to be built by OCUK rather than making it myself.

Ideally I'd like the following as minimum:

  • GTX780 GPU
  • 250GB SSD
  • 3TB hard drive
  • 16GB RAM

Looking for some recommendations in terms of bang per buck and future proofing.

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

you should take a look at our Ultima extreme Envy V2 system

With a 250GB SDD, 3TB HDD & Windows 8 options selected it comes in at: £1539.00 inc VAT

It has 16GB of RAM and a GTX 780 as standard :)

We actually just had this system reviewed by CustomPC which is due to be published next month some time. it is the August edition, we got 90%!

Is it possible to alter a few components in that build? For example, replacing the dvd drive with a BluRay writer?

Of course it is!

If you call our sales team they can switch any component out for you (provided it is compatible of course!).

A blu-ray drive is not an issue :)

I'm running my Ultima Extreme Envy V2 on a Dell 2711 at 2560x1440 resolution and it runs the games I play on it at the highest settings and produces very good frame rates. It also handles Photoshop and Lightroom with ease. It depends what you want though, resolution or refresh rate from a monitor, the system is capable of producing both well.

OP: "Here's the spec I'd like, my budget is £2200"
OcUK: "Here's one we made earlier, it's your exact spec and is about £600 cheaper than your budget"

Nailed it. Take 10 nerd points, OcUK.

Just means he can afford a great new screen and peripherals doesn't it?

A 1440p or 120/144hz 27" monitor would be on my radar. A mech keyboard and mouse too. :)

I'm thinking of getting one of those Overlord OC jobs. As to peripherals, I'll stick with my Razer Naga and Logitech G510.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
