Looking for a new TV, exclusively for use with my Google TV device.

- Budget £700
- Size - 50"+ but looking for best size vs. quality pay-off
- Thin bezels
- Needs to support turning on/off via CEC (my current LG TV doesn't support turning off)
- Switches on as quickly as possible (recall I am using a Google TV, I don't need any TV "features")
- I won't be using the remote, will be using Google TV remote exclusively
- Will be using TV speakers for sound - although I'm no audiophile.

Samsung TU8000

Rtings has all the info you need

I have another TV in the bedroom that is a Samsung which works with the CEC of Google TV, so I'm going to assume it will be fine here too.

Do you happen to know about the start-up "speed"? My (Samsung) bedroom tv takes about 5-6 seconds from pressing the button on the Google TV remote to being on and showing the Google TV menus. I think this is quite a long time, but maybe I'm being unreasonable.

Yes should work fine.

No idea about start up speed. Tbh it's something that you do once at that start and never have to think about again.

Most modern TV's I would imagine are the same. Apparently LG is the fastest the last time I checked but that was like 4 years ago.

After that Samsung bit again it depends on the model. The tu8000 is a budget model so won't be especially fast but nothing else would be faster for the money.

Again rtings has all the info you need just go on rtings and have a look at their TV buyers guides.

Whatever you do don't just pick a random TV go off of rtings buyers guides.
