Hi.

having problems with BT it seems I've been put on the go slow connection between 4pm - 11pm as the tech support department have told me, and I have to phone 0800 707 6044 on monday to resolve the problem?

Anyways can anyone recommend a good ISP without a download CAP don't mind paying over the odds as long as if I get 800k I can go all day doing so :)

I've checked and sadly there are no LLU providers on my exchange so I take it thats bad :( Please don't say I'm stuck with BT.... :)

thanks in advance!

Very interested in this. Despite having superb service from Zen over the past 3+ years or so I ran out of my 50gb limit at 9pm last night so was off the net until midnight when it all reset  This was despite being ultra careful of what I downloaded for most of the month.
So I am also looking for an uncapped, or may 100gb service that offers 5+ static external ip's.

what are you waiting for? didn't i recommend entanet to you the other day? :p

i've used 20gb since the start of my billing month (26th jan). i've now got to last until the 25th of feb on 310gb. :D

(paying 19.99 a month)

edited: to add more info... you won't get max speeds 24/7. because of the large allowances, when the off peak period kicks in after 10pm weekdays and weekends, speeds will fluctuate. they can drop down to 2mb but that rarely happens. and you can always monitor network performance via the website or using enta tool on windows. even though speeds can drop, browsing and streaming is always instantaneous and gaming pings are always top notch (not that i game but it's widely reported that enta is good for this).

as an example, here's what you can access with enta tool....

completely unrelated to the adsl, but most resellers give you proper webspace with php/mysql support. many other isps would charge extra for services like these.

Do you get multiple static ip's with any of these? I run a few servers & for testing this really is a requirement.
Also reliability. Zen has just been 100% rock steady since I have had it, where as a few previous isp were pretty hit & miss, bulldog & ntl to name but two.
I am really loathed to move from Zen, even at £35/month, but they just dont have the capacity I want these days :(

EDIT sorry for the thread hijack

yup, i mentioned that in a reply to your post in another thread the other day. you get one static ip as standard but can order 8 for no extra charge (5 usable).

a year and a half after escaping from Pipex to UKFSN, I have to say despite having a *rubbish* line and and a Belkin router which enjoys freezing, crashing and dropping my line loads, I've been very impressed with Enta/UKFSN. Great download caps, low downtime at thier end, english call centres, and am consistantly one of the lowest ping gamers when playing online.
