Hey all,

My parents are after a wifi router for their house in spain, they have an ADSL connection so can anyone recommend a good one? I don't know much about ADSL routers.

They would like to use it to share their connection via wifi with the house next door too, so I assume a strong signal will be essential.

Thanks

Russ

Most Linksys wifi routers are good. I have a WAG354G and it gets a very strong signal even without the additional aerial attached.

yeah I would probably go linksys as I have a WRT54G so know my way around them if they hit any problems

It may be worth considering something like the Netgeas DG834PN if you need more range as this uses the same MIMO system as 802.11n routers but is still 802.11g (with knobs on). I have a Linksys WAG54GS which is a very good router but the Netgear definitely has a better range.

BTW if you're buying the router in this country, have you checked that it's compatible with Spanish ADSL?

They use ADSLoPOTS the same as us, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Good. It's not something I've had to look into recently. The last time I had to deal with other european telcos I was installing 64kb leased lines and X25 switches!
