Recommend an ample gpu for CS:GO.

Rgiht so I think my GPU may be out the window but all I seem to be playing right now is counter strike:GO or css. So to test out if it is my GPU that is causing my freezing I will need a replacement and if that is the problem a GPU that can handle my needs whilst I RMA the other card.

The cheaper the better ideally, I don't care about it running everything max as lets face it the graphics are poor anyway. As long as it's smooth and works alright at 1080p i'll be happy.

I was looking at this, opinions? Or other options?

I remember when 6850s were £80, shot up! Also do not mind going second hand, if I can get anything for say £20 i'd just keep it for back up purposes.

I'm sure that would play it fine. It's not a demanding game.

As you say you would consider second hand. If you look in b-grade section you might find something better for less. I picked up a 560ti for £100 about a year ago.

My GT525m in my laptop runs this game at 60fps at 1080p. Any graphics card will be fine :L. I think this game is more CPU dependent if I'm honest. As my laptop plays CS:GO better than Source and Source only used 1 thread (multi-core rendering on Source caused crashes) whereas GO uses all 4 of my threads.

I just picked up a BFG 8800GT OC for £17 lol should do me for now hopefully. I have a 2500k so that should pull it along nicely.

I need a card like that for another build. Was hoping to be able to access the members market by now. But naughty OCUK keep moving the goal posts!
First it was 200 posts. Just as i got close, they moved it to 500. Now it's 1000!
They should introduce a further criteria where you gain access for how long you've been a member
