Recommend cheap - low end decent sound bar? £150 top.

Since the edifier speakers I've been using with my old telly don't work with the new Samsung (can't control sound volume) I've been looking for a decent low end sound bar. Unfortunately it looks like all reviews recommend buying 2014-2015 models. Has there been no progress in the field since?

I've looked at Samsung j355 which can be had for around 100 and has decent reviews but the denon dht t110 was recommended somewhere as well.

Any recommendations ?
Mostly for watching movies but should do decent justice to music as well. Is it worth spending bit more?

I remember buying the Wharedale vista a few years back and paid £150 for that what a waste of money that was it was awful for everything ended up throwing it away after a year. Then spent £330 on the Canton DM55 Soundbase which was ok for music and movies but had reliability issues and a lot of reviews had the same issue i had so sent it back and now got the Dali Kubic One and Dali E9F Sub cost over £1100 for both but wow its fantastic for movies music. For £150 you will get something that will improve the TV speakers but nothing mind blowing for movies and music
