Hello folks, wasnt 100% sure if this should go into ram or coolers, as there's elements of both in it, I'm considering upgrading to an i7 2600k in the next few months and have been looking around at a few different components, I must admit before hand that I'm choosing some parts because of decent performance but also because I like the look of it (no point ordering ugly parts lol ), reason I say this is because I'm going to get 2 sticks of corsair vengance ram - with the large heatsinks, and have seen that their are some compatibility issues with them and some large heatsinks.
I intend on doing some overclocking on the i7 so would like and efficient cooler, but also would prefer a it to be relatively quiet, not sure on water cooling and read the fan on the H100 for example can be quite load, seen the noctua as cooler for the i7, but it would have problems with the ram? (and I dont like the colour scheme lol)

I'm liking the look of the NZXT Havik 140, looks decent, ok performance but from the looks of it seems like it too will have issues with the ram heatsinks, can someone confirm/deny this? (if it helps I intend on using a maximus iv - so an EATX)

Additionally any recommendations are welcome and appreciated :).

Miss post - meant to go into overclocking and cooling - apologies.

Thanks for the responses, i dont liek the colour of the noctua fans lol, but those temps. are very impressive, and thanks for the pics, the pull/pull setup seems like a good config, it doesnt affect temperatures too much?

The Prolimatech Genesis seems like a good option except for the cost but its an unusual way off mounting the fans, opens up some more options.

Thanks for the video.

And sniper were the extra silent fans expensive and do they lessen the noise enough to warrent buying them?

Dunno if the V8 would be compatible with Vengange, but come across the unusual V10, though it looks like it would deliver a few dbs - im going to read some reviews later.

Thx very much sniper, didnt have to go into so much trouble, the sound levels seem reasonable, I'm not looking for a wisper quite build as I'm aware thats hard to get and prob. expensive to get top notch, its just that im sure that while planing to get an i7 I dont want to end up with a turbine cooler lol.
Thermalright Silver Arrow/noctura - whats with the ugly colours on the cpu fans with these 2 lol.

Yeh the Thermalright True Black 120 looks like a nice cooler (as does the wavey design of the havik 140 lol ), most of the cooler look like ther going to obstruct the 1st ram slot, if I decided to get a cpu cooler that was going to obstruct the 1st slot on the maximus iv motherboard, would their be any diffrence in preformance putting the ram modules into the 2nd and 4th slot?.

V8 looks like a beast, and I dont know the answer to the overclocked bulldozer :-/
