Recommend Headphone w/Mic USB or Audio Jack?

Looking to buying a Headphone/Mic combo for a max price of about £30.

Preferably want a traditional jack pair so the headphone audio jack can be plugged into my speakers remote headphone socket, but the set would need to have a seperate or longer mic cable to reach the back of the pc. Is there anything like this available?

My other thought is to go usb - any downsides to this? eg do USB headphones need audio settings changed in windows to switch between speakers and headphones?

Any thoughts?

I'd buy an ordinary set and use a headphone extension to extend the mic cable.

Simple solution i hadn't thought of lol. I'll probably get an extension lead, but still curious of any drawbacks to usb headphones used in conjunction with speakers. Any real life experiences with usb to give me an idea?
