Hi all,

Had an LG tv for a few years now but I want to replace it

I'm after a new 4k 43 inch tv for my lounge. The lounge is bright, tv sits near a window. So oled is not an option. The tv will need to have decent brightness.

I'll be using it as a PC Desktop monitor most of the time. Just web browsing really. Gaming? Occasional 30 min bursts of Call of Duty. Viewing tv programmes too (obvs). When comparing dark scenes, during gaming particularly, my LG 32" monitor shows detail better than my existing tv. Well, in fact the tv can sometimes just show next to nothing - just blackness in dark scenes - whereas the 32" monitor shows items and colour, textures etc.

I've tried an LG Qned765 in the last few days. Very disappointed in that. No brightness. It's going back. Not impressed with Qned. Would Qled be different?

I'm open to any manufacturer but I must confess to being very fond of the Magic Remote that LG use.

Budget: Up to £500. The lower the better though :).

Many thanks for your suggestions.

Have a look at the Samsung QLED TVs. If your budget was higher then I’d say definitely look at the Neo QLED.

Thanks LiE. A bit too steep for me that neo Qled. Thinking of biting the bullet on the cheaper Samsung 43 Inch Q60C for £414. Looked like a decent pic when I saw it in a store today.

Panasonic TX-43MX800B
Thank you Simmz. Been in one of the nationwide chain outlets today. Didn't get to see a Panasonic. None on show. Mainly Samsung and LG and a few Hisense on show. I'd much prefer to buy a tv I could have a shuftie at first.

When comparing price for price LG vs Samsung I'm beginning to think Samsung might be my choice.

I purchased a 43 inch Q60C for my daughter's bedroom, but having removed it from the box and watched it for 5 minutes it promptly went back into the box and was sent back.
I thought the picture was dim and the motion handling terrible.

Oh... Interesting. I've just gone and bought a Q60C from Currys ebay outlet this evening. That info has somewhat caught my attention obviously. It'll be delivered Friday or Saturday I expect. I had seen a Q60C in one of their retail outlets. It seemed good to me in the subdued lighting they have in the TV section. I'll post back here with my findings when I get a chance to try it in my lounge.
Worst that can happen is it gets sent back as they do accept returns.

Update: The Samsung 43 inch Q60C arrived today. So far It seems fine to me. Nice picture. Bright enough. Can't complain.
Just about to try it on COD. We'll see how it performs in dark scenes.

Edit. First impressions: Games. Dark scenes seem ok.
