Recommend me a ADSL Router?

Hi Peeps,
I am having some problems with my safecom adsl router disconnecting every 10 minutes so im on the lookout for a new adsl router? Can someone recommend me some thats below £50 yet will be easy to use/install?

Is it possible for a router to be disconnecting my connection all the time?

It's certainly possible. You could try upgrading the firmware on your router to see if that helps. Changing microfilters an RJ11 cable is worth a try.

Another option is to report a fault to your ISP and see what they find.

Wow, didnt know there was sooo many things you could change. I was just going to buy another router. I managed to update the firmware last night before it disconnected! I checked the system log on the router and its all fine but once it disconnects i recheck the system log and notice that there is another two lines that says "manager gets default node" I have noticed that every time this appears it causes my net to disconnect.

When it disconnects, can you still connect to the web management interface on the router? If not, that suggests a problem with the router. If you can then it is probably something on the internet side of things.

Can I ask what Safecom router you have?

I have the SRT-4114 and this disconnects all the time but thats just down to my line.

I have had about 12 disconnects in the last 15hours

I have the SMARU 54108 and i havent had any problems until now. How do you know its your line thats causing the problem? Also, which ISP are you with?
Im having disconnects every 5/10 minutes

im migrating from bulldog atm, to Newnet.

Its been doing this last week I would say.

I have a high line attenuation and low SNR also I am able to get into my routers management interface so I know its not the router(could be) but most likly my line.

Well UKonline have reported that they are having problems with the authentication of there proxeyservers so hopefully this should be the reason for this problem
