I'm looking at what I can buy for my girlfriends birthday that's coming up in June. In general it's probably better to stick to a £50-£100 budget but I'm thinking of stretching it.

She doesn't drive and getting to work takes her 25 minutes. She is into fitness too and we try to go the gym when we can, she really wants a good bike for herself but simply can't afford one right now. There's a bike she has "fallen in love with" she wants to buy it when she can afford it.

Since I really want to get her into cycling I'm thinking it would be a really good birthday and Christmas gift from me.

She is really obsessed with vintage and anything 40s or 50s so this bike really appeals to her. She wears a lot of vintage dresses so she would be okay sitting on this one.

I care more about how a bike rides than how it looks myself so I want to have a good look around first. The reviews are really good too. Does anyone have any other recommendations on ladies bikes?

Tony, if your budget is that low then you really can't look at new bikes, as mentioned you'd need to treble it to even get something basic and ok.

Your best bet is to go into any local bike shops and ask around, you'll get something easily within your budget buying privately but depending on your knowledge (& luck) you can get caught out. That's why I mention the LBS (local bike shop), the majority do trade in's so may have something similar within your budget and buying from them it'll be serviced and checked over so you shouldn't get caught out.
