TLDR Version: I need a good price/performance PC without a firm budget and can potentially scavenge disk drives
At the moment I'm running a C2D 6600 at stock with 2gb RAM a (bronze rated but 5yr old) 470w PSU and a 4850 512mb graphics card Vista (ugh) and a 1920x1080 monitor. It's struggling a bit to keep up, I can get decent framerate on Witcher 2 without dropping res if I turn everything down and Space Marine runs like a dream but it's spluttering a bit on any settings trying to play Human Revolution.
I want something that can play Diablo 3, Human Revolution smoothly, Skyrim with all the trimmings (though I could wait for the graphics mods to come out if I had a chance at playing on medium) and Battlefield 3 at all. I don't really care much about settings as long as I can hit medium textures and 1080p but I don't want to upgrade for a bit if I can help it. I might be able to patch up my existing system except my motherboard is a hunk of junk (P5N-32 SLI Premium the 3rd/4th Ram sockets don't work and it won't accept any quad core processor)
So I reckon I need something new. My power supply probably isn't going to be up to much more and I'd probably want a new case, but if my generic 7200RPM hard disk is still any good I can use that, and I've a decent DVD drive to use too. I'm thinking of an i5 2500k with 8gb RAM a 120gb SSD and a Gtx 560 ti. I wouldn't expect I'll end up using SLI, I'd probably be more comfortable upgrading graphics card, assuming that when this system stops running games on medium the processor, mobo and RAM will all want replacing anyway.
