I currently have a CM 710.. but its starting to prove a bit annoying so looking for a new case.. with these criteria (in order)

+ Quiet a absolute must
+ No Front Door (I have bays that stick out a bit)
+ Light <9kg
+ Black (not a must but prefered)

Any suggestions.. would be welcome.

Lian Li definately - probably the V1000 type

And i think someone may be interested in your old case as well

Akasa Eclipse 62. Akasa have mastered the magic of plastic. No longer do you have to put up with straight lines, you can have compound curves on a case too!

Also - it's massively spacious inside, has fantastic cooling and it's definitely the easiest case ever to work on. Not only is the motherboard tray removeable, but the expansion slots are too! You can assemble the whole system out of the case, then slot it in and off you go.

Brilliant. For under £140 you won't get a better case. After that I'm with Yewen, the V1000B+ is a thing of practical beauty and the design of the interior is nearly perfect.

Having just seen the 710... are you mad?!

keep it

Its a nice case.. but weighs a ton.. (i move my PC around a lot) and the front door panel stops me from using my babus and X-fi drive bay stuff. Plus the opening and closing of the door is a bit of a bore when burning loads of disc's.

Ill look at the recommended cases..

Plus when i get my new one ill stick my 710 up for sale.

The PC7+ is a LOT lighter than your case, it probably weighs about the same as the drive cages!

And the thermal panel is a add on panel (£20) that pre mods a blowhole into the side.

Lian Li supply ADDA fans with there cases, black plastic.

You can buy aluminium casing and plastic blade fans but not from Lian Li.

There not the quietest fans around but at least you get them free. Id say the akasa eclipse is a much better case than the PC-7 in build quality and features but the PC-7's front looks better, slightly. I like the shape of the Akasa front better than the flat boring PC-7 but you just cant beat brushed aluminium. Either case will suite your needs and you wont be dissapointed with either.

Well you own a Eclipse, remember also they are in different price brackets!

The PC60 competes with the Eclipse, the PC7 competes with Thermaltake Tsunami and lower, and the coolermaster centurion 531.

People forget that about the PC7 ;)

Just got myself the lian Li 1000, not at all impressed with it in the quiet area - Going to have to work on cutting down the noise.

1. Blower fan (ouch is that noisey), will try without it but the heat from the GFX will just collect at the top of the case (upside down design).

2. Open design, front is open mesh design, plus the bottom, plus the back so all the noise can escape.

3. HHD are very noisey now, they dont fit in the rack good enough so they rattle (where as in my old case they were screwed tight to the frame). So I will have to mount them in the 5" bay which defeats one purpose of the case

You can wedge the hard drives in with elastic bands if that is happening.

The v1100 is intended to be the quieter one, but the v1000+ can be very quiet as most people have found.

The blower fan is pretty poor, but if you remove it I found no issue with the stock cooler on my 7800gt.
