Hi,

I'm wanting to get a new case soon, I've been looking at the Coolermaster Wavemaster but I've been told it has bad air flow? Is this true?

Basically I'm looking for a good quality, good looking case for around £100.

What can you recommend me please? ;)

Thanks,
Craig.

Baaaah, got a black wavemaster here and the airflow is decent.

It's by far the sexiest case out there, the build quality is fantastic.

My only minor niggles are 80mm fans and the space is a little cramped inside.

If you like the look of the wavemaster then get it, it can easily handle any computer you put in it, but expect temperatures in the mid 40's. (Ths is FINE contrary to what most people think, AMD rate there processors 70+ for 12 years, so 40 is nothing)

SLI would be a no no, and it would cost a bit more to silence it due to the 80mm fans but they are cracking cases, the last ATCs ones still being sold.

I just got my black Wavemaster about a day ago and it looks amazing. Build quality is also very good. Id reccomend it. Just ask if you want some pics.

I wish i had taken some of it when it was new without anything installed but i guess i was too excited about putting it together :D

Abit of a mess inside i know

Id say abit larger than normal, but only by about 2 inches in height. Although it is quite long which gives it abit more space. And seeing as there is a removable mobo tray it is easy to install new components.

If you like the looks of the wavemaster then for the looks only the ATCs 110 will beat it in my eyes.

It is a stunning case in person, not much out there to touch it currently, TJ03 but it is a silly price in comparrisson.

I think you will be delighted I have one and a CM201 absolutely superb quality I have seen nothing to compare and I have had Lian Li as well.

Incidently I'm running a Opteron @ 2.85GHz and a ATI X1900XTX in my Wavemaster no problem at all with temps.

I hope you like it as much as I do mine it's a piece or art in my eyes. :D

Nothing can compete with the ATCs cases, the Lian Li V series does come close, but it lacks the attention to detail most of the ATCs cases had. :(

I have the silver version, and had to put a 120mm fan at the side to cool my cards, cos the 3dcards were about 75c idle but with the 120mm fan on the side, its brought the temps right down to 55c

Im planning to upgrade it to the black case in the near future and either drill neat holes with a template in the side where ive got the 120mm fan, or cut a hole and cover it with a 120mm gold grill.

heres a pic of the inside of my case with the 120mm fan covering the cards

Your running SLI in a Wavemaster though, when the chassis was designed, with the unblocked intakes, GPU temperature was well behind CPU, and SLI was not even a dream at the time.

It really isnt a SLI case but should have no trouble running one card.

Do you have the temperatures from your graphics card while we are on the subject of temps, also you PSU would be handy?

My temps of my card or speedys ??

Looks very nice, I love that case!

Craig.

Yours. :)

/obv when sorted out. :p

Trying to get some more info on how others find the Wavemaster, I have not had any trouble with the ones I have used, a little on the toasty side but nothing to cause any issues, although I have not ran 6000's in SLI.

well before i installed the 120mm fan the cpu was 45c - 47c idel, and the top and side of the case was quite warm and hot air was blowing out of the psu. After I installed the fan the cpu dropped to 35c idel and the top and side of the case is no longer warm, and much cooler air blows out of the psu now too, so all good :D I cannot really give you any temps of the psu cos it says 71 - 72c all the time, even when you first power the pc up

Basically dont run sli with this case without a 120mm fan on the side to cool the cards, cos it not only heats the cards up it takes everything else up too

Like most cases with SLI then. ;)

v1000+ has the blower fan, Akasa have the blowhole side panel...

It is how you deal with SLI, stick a fan on the side of the cards. :D
