I'm slowly getting around to replacing the cheap parts of my PC after my £15 PSU finally gave in to my 2.2 to 2.5GHz overclock :D. Today it's the turn of my case.

My budget is around £70, I'd like a black case and really like the look of the Lian Li PC-7B Plus II. For the money is there anything better? I noticed that there is now a 3rd revision of it, but it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere. Would it be worth waiting for it, is the other just as good?

Cheers :).

nothing for your money is better, the Akasa Eclipse most people will swear by, but is a matter of tase on the front. Arguably better coling than the PC-7, but more expensive.

PC-7 for the win :)

You could post a wanted black case in the mm im sure someones willing to sell their lian li v1000 for £70.Seen it offered for that !

The black Lian Li PC7 is sitting in it's box in my room waiting to get filled with all the parts very soon. I haven't seen it yet, but from my research it's a nice case. However, if you are planning to have more than 3 HDD, then things will get worst.

Can't wait till I open the box.

not really, it has 2 free floppy bays for another 2x 3 1/2" drives, how many people really use floppys anyway?

5 HDDs is more than enough for most people, and you could always covert 3 5 1/4" bays with an EX-34 or whatever for another 3/4 HDDs if you only want one DVD drive.

OK, my case has something silly like 13 HDD bays, but its a full tower case, and i only use 2 of those bays....... actually removed the lower 10-stack of HDD bays to open up the cooling a little more.

im in the same position as you.

ive ordered all my bits not i just need a case and want the pc7. i will buy which ever comes back in to stock first.

the SEIII does look nice, but not enough to worry about waiting. (its meant to have come back in stock for the last few weeks.)

which comes first, wins for me.

the PC7 is a very good case, I got mine last week. Although If you do get one, get a couple of silent 120mm fans too, or 7v mod the fans that come with the case, like I did, unless you like the sound of a jet engine in your room :)

Thanks for the replies - it sounds like it's the best one to go for :).

Is the VGA cooler add-on worth it? I'm going to be getting a 7900GS too (I need pixel shader v3 which my ATI x800 doesn't have) and I'll probably overclock it - but nothing too far.

nah, not really worth it, i'd only use it if i wanted to run something stupid like 8800GTX in SLi and overclocked.

and in your case it will just make more noise as opposed to being really useful

Yeah looks better, cooling looks ok no where on same league as the Antec 900.

Antec 900 is still an amazing choice, its Antecs best UK selling case...

I got the Lian Li PC7 a couple of months ago (inc the side window) and imho its a very nice looking case and the pic on ocuk doesn't do it justice.

The only slight problem i had with mine was when i added the 80mm fan at the top, i got a very annoying humm. I solved it by just putting somthing on the top of my case, my 360 controller is usually sits on top.:p
