Hi,

I need a new alarm for my 106gti, currently it has the standard alarm/immobiliser fitted but would like something a little better.

I quickly enquired in a local shop and they recommended a Toad Ai606 for £280 fitted (the paging add on interested me!), it seemed quite a good alarm but i was wondering if any of you guys could recommend anything and if there is anything out there cheaper but still very good.

Also if i fitted an alarm myself how would the insurance be in relation to the alarm certificate? or is that something i would need to ask them as they vary?

Thanks for any help at all :)

The Toad Ai606 u mentioned or

Clifford Concept 650

oh and dont go fitting it your self, get an Approved place to do it, I got my clifford done from "sound Gallary" absolete superb job

I've got a Cobra 3868.
It's an alarm used to upgrade the standard CAT 2 alarm to a Cat 1.
I uses the same fob as the standard alarm and works well.
It cost the previous owner about £250 for alarm and full fitting as well as the certificate.

I have the Toad Ai606 & the dual zone proximity sensor. Not had any problems with it and it's a top alarm. I would get it proffesionally fitted so you get the certificate to lower your insurance.

Have a Cobra... something on the Elise. Proximity sensor is great, anyone looking a bit too closely when the roof is off gets a blast from the klaxon.

id get a cobra......but i would say that ;) try pds for a price. probably nearest to you...or you could travel to sunny Burton.
