Recommend me a CFU HSF!

Are you overclocking or is it just stock? Do you need performance or do you want it to just do its job @ stock?

EDIT: Also what socket is it?

Hi, it isn't quiet when the fan ramps up at all. If you want good cooling and quite PC I'd go for a scythe ninja or a turiq tower...

If you want quiet and cold, then go for a Thermalright SI-120, and a Vantec Stealth fan 120mm ;)

I was never a huge fan of the vantec stealths...they seemed to give a quite distict motor buzz. The new noctua 120mm fans are getting very good feedback, although a nexus or something are also great. Check out silentpcreview if you want really silent fans, those boys REALLY know what they're talking about when it comes to noise and airflow.

OK guys, what is the best HSF I can buy for my Athlon FX53 2.4GHz CPU?

Ideally, I'd like it to be quiet as well as cool well, rather then have a loud HSF unit ;)
Hi,

I would recommend the Thermalright Ultra 120 with your own choice of 'quiet' 120mm fan, having said that as your running a mono-core processor I think it may almost be the case that you could run it 'Passive' (if your case had a little airflow).

Its worth buying the best heatsink you can afford, buy cheap, buy dear the saying goes!

Yours isn't? I've just tested mine by taking out all of the 120mm fans and just having the stock on.. I really have a job hearing it through the Antec P180 :S:S.. Wierd...

+1

can even passively cool if needs be. Anandtech showed an improvement over the stock one even running passive.
