Recommend me a cheap gorillapod & full size tripod

Any advice on what to go for and where to buy from? Finding a lot of things I want to do with my new/2nd hand D3000 and going to require more than me attempting to hold the camera still

gorillapod is an abvious choice get the SLR or the SLR zoon, I got mine from the rainforrest place in an effort to dodge the ebay fakes!
