I'm currently using the stock Intel cooler that came with my 4300, and I figured since I have a bit of spare cash I might as well get a slightly better, slightly quieter one!

I'm looking for a cooler that operates very quietly (Maybe has a controller?) and that provides decent cooling. I'll be upgrading to a much faster C2D in the near future so it needs to be able to hold it's own with higher end chips, not just my current one.

Most importantly, I'd like a cooler that is simple to fit and doesn't require me to remove my entire goddamn motherboard, I hate that.

I know I'm being picky but I'm sure you fine chaps know what is good!

limited by what you can get if you dont want to remove the mobo, from what you mentioned about the high end chip it would be silly to limit yourself cos of that.

if you want to stick with pop slot coolers, sycthe ninja would be my suggestion, followed by the ac7.

but i would seriously consider changing you're mind and get a bolt on cooler.

Well, I'd rather not have to remove the motherboard. It just seems like such an unnecessary hassle. There must be decent cooling solutions that don't require this.

If not, I guess I could swing and go for a bolt on.

I hated the ninja so much so I only had it for 2 days. But I do agree theres not much of a reason not to remove your mobo etc therefore allowing you to get a decent and well attached cooler

Apart from the reason that I don't want to take my computer apart. :(

Oh well, scrap that then. Can anyone suggest me a good quiet cooler in general then? :D
