Hey there

So I need a cheap but decent cooler for my upgrade, I will be running a C2D E2180 Conroe 2.00GHz, I plan to OC it to about 2.8/3.0GHz but I want to make sure I have a proper cooler first, is there anything below £10 that will do the job well? I will be running the CPU/Cooler on a Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your help and time.

cant think of anything for under £10, you could try a freezer pro thats a bit over £10, but tbh you get what you pay for when it comes to coolers

Have a look at the Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 Pro, it might be what your looking for.
i dont think he will get his cpu to 2.8/3.0ghz with that cooler unless it is running at full speed and the noise will be quite loud imho, spend some more money and get the tuniq tower, you will find that that tower is used by quite a few people on this forum's and they all say it's good(i should know because they told me to get one)

Yeah I just ordered the Akasa AK-965, 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram and a Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX motherboard. I'm going to be ordering my CPU on Monday, probably going to get the E2200 actually, as I will have enough money for that.

I have been using the arctic freezer 7 pro to cool an E2180 clocked at 2.8 GHz most of the time and it does a fantastic job - temperatures never go higher than around 55 in prime. As for noise, i cant hear it over the (albeit quite noisy) case fans. If you can stick a bit of noise, then for the price it is excellent.
