Recommend me a cooler?

Hi Guys

Just looking for advice on a new cooler.

Currently have one of the earliest all in one liquid coolers, might be a H55 I cant be sure but what I do know is its starting to get noisy. Not loud, but has a certain ringing noise to it that seems to have just started.

I have a Cooler Master silencio case and currently running a i7 4790 non K.

Im after a new cooler, air or all in one liquid but only has room on the back for one fan as far as I can see.

I do like them quiet but also understand that noise vs cooling cant be had easily etc.

Just wondering if a decent air cooler is the way to go now?

NH-D14. Not sure the rest will fit the silencio. Needs medium to low profile RAM. Look it up to see if anyone fitted one of these.

I do like those Phanteks cooler..had a couple of them...But one I had I dropped it ,the top panel fell off and revealed some what seemed to be rust ...have no idea why though...so now I've started using an AIO Cooler

Which Silencio do you have?
452 has 158mm CPU clearance
550 has 154mm
650 has 162mm

NH-D14 is 160mm tall
NH-D15 is 165mm
PH-TC14PE is 171mm

Then you have 154mm CPU clearance.

If your H55 was enough cooler than something like a TRUE Spirit 120 (145mm tall), True Spirit 120i (150mm tall) or Macho 120 (150mm tall) has about 6c better performance. Both TS120 coolers perform the same and Macho 120 is slightly better.

To be fair to the H55 its lasted ages and performs fine, its just started getting noisy

I don't hate H55s. I just don't like any of the current CLCs out there.

But the new Swiftech AIO with pump on radiator is looking good.

Is that pump or fan noise? Because you should be able to do something about the fan.

Its the pump for sure.

All good, will order a new air cooler and feedback how it goes (size dependant for the case)
