recommend me a dslr/bridge camera please!

hi

after a first dslr/bridge camera as per title and am looking for some suggestions. budget is up to £250 .. but needs to be worthwhile if its anywhere near the top end of that. I've looked into the Sony A220 with 17-70mm lens (i think) and Nikon D200 with a 17-70mm lens. both are around £250.

any other suggestions please - some good bridge cameras with video options would be good too.

If you can honestly get a D200 for that money then it's the bargain of the century.

i thought i saw it earlier with a lens for that money but now i go to look for it I can't find it .. might be wrong

might have been a D40 instead

Maybe a D40 or a Fujifilm S9600 with a few accessories? (I have a S9600 - great bridge camera but no DSLR)
