That I can get lost in, story wise.

I'm a bit bored at the moment, with not much going on, and would like to get my teeth into a game which I can get really involved in. Mafia for example was quite good in this regard, whearas HL2, which I really enjoyed, wasn't engaging in this way as much.

So I don't want WoW, or anything too RPG, but something which will keep me intrigued and might make me go 'no way!!' when something plot-wise happens.

Is this PC or a console and what type of game? 1st person shooter? name a few games u like and a few u hate to let us know how better to advise you.

For a game for just story, Farenheit is a must!

Rtatts - It is a PC Game I think as its in the PC forum, and hes just looking to see what ideas you have

Obviously PC game. Definitely tempted by Farenheit. Someone else suggested I try this months ago,

GTA bored me. Found myself on a treadmill in a gym for half an hour, then just thought wtf am I doing??

I've never tried out and out adventure games before, The Longest Journey might be worth a go.

I'm still intrigued by In Memoriam, I wonder if it's still supported?

Heard bioshock has a pretty good story. Played the demo for xbox, and i was instantly immersed in the game - if you do buy it for the pc, make sure you have a pretty good spec matey :)

Thanks :) I tried the demo, and got it run just okay. It did seem more of an action shooter than a deep story based game, but I might still pick it up.

Play Homeworld then Homeworld 2. Obviously they're Sci-Fi but if you like the genre then the story (at lest from the first one, haven't finished 2 yet) is very good. :)

Strongly seconded!

The Longest Journey and its sequel, Dreamfall.
Strongly seconded again!

And I know you said that you don't want RPGs, but I'm playing through Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic again and I'm completely addicted just like I was a few years ago. You did say a gripping story, so go! :D

Neverwinter nights 2 + expansion, it is "mmporg like" but is offline, and has an interesting and changable storyline, good if your trying to quit a mmporg and need something to keep you entertained.

otherwise a really fun game i bought was enemy territory: quake wars. its a shoot em up and has only come out a few days ago, is really quite fun and couldn't go without mentioning it.

There are loads of great adventure games out there that need to be played for the plot line. Start with the longest journey as it's dead cheap now and loads of fun and if you like it there's a wealth of story line just waiting to be played.

Some fun games are:

Discworld 2
Money Island 3
Broken Sword (the latest one, forget which number we're on)

Thanks for the input folks. :)

I think I'll pick up Farenheit (cheap too), and maybe try The Longest Journey games . . .
