Recommend me a game

I enjoyed Fallout 3 and all the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games. Can anyone recommend me a game that is anything like those games worth playing? Ideally games that are not too old, i.e. Fallout 2.

Doubt there is anything remotely close to Stalker or Fallout 3. I certainly can't think of anything. I know COD:MW puts you back in Chernobyl for one level (All Ghillied Up), but there's no other post apocalyptic game out there iirc. Try the Bioshock games for a world gone wrong.

Played those. Was thinking of playing Mass Effect 2 again, but as they took out so much of the rgp elements from the first game that I am reluctant to play again till all dlc.

Also played both Bioshock 1 and 2. By the way, it does not need to be a post apocalyptic game.

EDIT: By the way, do you think Mass Effect 2 DLC will ever hit steam? I hate the idea of buying it from ea.

Have you played oblivion? It's basically fallout 3 mixed with harry potter. There are plenty of graphical mods which prevent it looking it's age.

Half Life 2 is always good for another play through you could do episode 1 & 2 also so your ready for episode 3 when it's released in 201X.

Those 2 games are my all time favourites.
Now playing Borderlands and really enjoying it, nearly as much!
Don't be put off by the cartoony graphics, it works well.

I will wait till they are on a steam deal. I will get both for a fiver probably then. They can be played on a laptop wheil I am on the go.

Apart from Oblivion I have played the other games mentioned. I hate Harry Potter and all that kinda thing, hence why I did not like Oblivion and Dragon Age for example.

Fallen Earth is a MMO in a post apocalyptic world...but I found it naff.

I hate harry potter too, and couldn't get into dragon age, but oblivion really is a great game, it's extremely similar to fallout 3, with better melee combat.

BioShockII SP and MP is great fun. You don't really have to play the first as it gives you an insight as to what's happened anyway.

Fallout3 is certainly a tough act to follow.
