Recommend me a gamepad/controller that isn't an Xbone cone

I have a Windows 7 PC in the lounge for leisurely lounging gaming on the sofa and I used my old wired Xbox 360 controller on this. The controller has now died and I'm using a very "Player 2" third party controller which looks like the 360 controller but is terrible in every way so I want a replacement. Sadly if unsurprisingly new, wired 360 controllers are getting hard to find and all I can find is the crappy knock-off ones.

I can't use an Xbone one because it doesn't work on Windows 7! I have one for my Windows 10 PC in my office but it won't work on Windows 7.

I love the 360s very plug and play nature although can anyone recommend any other gamepads (preferably with roughly the same layout and games will just read as a 360 controller?)

Edit - also has to be wired!

edit edit - the title is meant to be "xbone one"

The steam controller takes some getting used to but is sweet as ****. highly recommend

That's a mind controller NOT a game controller. How about getting a life and understanding that Win10 is NOT compulsory and not to everyone's liking.

lol...

Bit extreme there bud, it was just a recommendation.

The OP has fixed his issue, all of this is moot.
