Hey, guys

I don't think i've posted here for a long time :p

my friend is looking for a new gpu for his pc, and asked me to find him something decent, his budget is £70, and so far i think this is a decent card (well below his budget)

at 56, it seems worth it, benchmarks were pretty good, but i herd these had driver probs etc apparently, so i dunno.
would love some help, tnx
oh, i also considerded a 4850, but this seems better.
Help?! xD

The suggestions listed above will be more than adequate. What resolution and expectations does he have? If he is playing on a 20" - 22" then a 512mb 4870 would be a good second hand purchase if he can grab one.

NO! I won't! Oh wait you said please! :)

A 4850 is perfectly fine for a lot of games, plays RE5 and more at 1920x1200 for me. I would say that, or see if you can grab a 4870.

:)

yep, i've been thinking of a 4850 too. I just thought that x2 may be better, since it's ...x2 :P
probably a Gainward 4850 i guess...comes OC and a custom cooler :D

Typically I just get the cheapest possible. I suppose if over clocking then it might be worth it, but worst happens you could always get a custom cooler later on.

Yea, but i saw a Gainward 4850 for £82 elesware, and it's around £110 on OcUK (lol overpriced much?) so it's only 12 more than his budget, so i'm sure he'll flex his arm abit :P
but will decide which brand when time comes i guess :D
