I can finally afford to get myself a new heatsink for my i7 930.

Whats the best heatsink you'd recommend for around £40? Want to keep my system nice and cool quite but still be able to OC abit

Edit: case is a xigmatek midgard

They have variable resistors so you can change the fan speeds. On low, the fans are quiet.

i would listen to Helios, when it comes to coolers, he is very knowledgeable. ;)
i bought a used Noctua NH-D14 for £40, so if you dont mind buying used, have a look around and see what you can get ;)

For £40ishm the Frio is hard to beat. It's a bit cumbersome to install, especially if you want to remove it later on but apart from that it has great performance and isn't loud at all then the fans are set to low.

But as mentioned, buying second hand can give you some cracking deals as above. It's no risk at all either as a heatsink is unlikely to go wrong.

Frio it may well be, might just see what I can pick up used before I go and buy a new one, cant really imagine there being any issues with a second hand one
