I am looking to buy a laptop for:
General university work
Youtube/web browsing
Movie streaming
Light gaming (so a dedicated GPU would be nice)
Not fussed about blu ray since I have a PS3 for that and who buys those £20 discs anyway
4GB of RAM (dual channel)
15.6in or bigger since I would like a full sized keyboard
good keyboard is essential since I will need to do a LOT of typing!! (studying law)
Don't need a card reader
Don't need USB 3.0 or firewire
My budget limit is £800, willing to go higher if it's really worth it.
I am really bad with laptops since I have never owned one, always had a gaming rig built by myself but found a laptop much more pratical now due to lack of space and the fact I don't really have time to play videogames anymore, only reason I want a gpu on laptop is just in case I get the urge to play something haha.
I was looking at the Sony Vaio VPCF11J0E/H because the keyboard looks really nice, (I am very fussy with keyboards, owned gaming keyboard + mice before so bad quality ones really get on my nerves) obviously the MBP keyboard and mouse pad are really good but I don't want/like Macs, funny enough I'm one of the few that actually like Windows and the freedom that comes with it.
That Vaio looks good but I don't need a blu ray drive and I suspect the 6gb of RAM is not dual channel.
