Hi all,

Like the look of the Silverstone SG05B a lot but unsure as to whether some mini ITX ion boards wont fit .. also would be nice to have something that'd take 2 x 3.5" drives and a 2.5" boot drive.

Anything out there that's similar?

Thanks!
Adam

The SG05 is a mini-ITX case and therefore should handle all mini-ITX mobos; although it is limited to 3.5” x 1 and 2.5”x 1

If you look in the thread on the SG05 (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17999638) people have been looking at adding additional drives.

An alternate case that can fit 2 x 3.5" drives is the Lian Li PC-Q07B. No PSU but it takes standard ATX supplies

Thanks! Lian Li looks nice, no 2.5" bay though and was hoping to have a small SSD for OS drive.

Does a quiet / reasonably prices atx psu exist that'll fit the Lian?

Cheers!

You can use industrial strength double sided tape and stick the 2.5" drive somewhere inside the case...

PSU - depends upon what you intend to run in the case really. If it's an ion / Atom mini-itx then a pico PSU (google for more information) would be ideal. For other set-ups consider getting a PSU that would be running (under stress) at around 50% capacity, and with a high (85%+) efficiency. That way your PSU fan will be rarely used and thus be very quiet.

Thanks again, will google the Pico ;)

...on another note, I see the Lian Li says 2x3.5" bays but someone has reviewed it and said in fact it's only one - confused!

Thanks for all your help .. I went with the SG05B in the end. I'll use a 40Gb SATA 2.5" for now and a 1.5Tb 3.5" mounted internally - should do me for a while, I'm only using half that in my NAS right now - when I outgrow it I'll grab another case I'm sure.

Cheers!
