if you're wanting a TV / movie monitor i would really recommend looking at the WS models. It depends on your budget really as to which models you can look at, but the bigger the better really! Maybe look at something like the Dell 2405FPW or the soon to be updated version, the 2407WFP. Maybe some of the popular 20" WS models if you're looking for something cheaper. Maybe even some massive like the Dell 3007WFP if you have the money!
I'd definitely recommend looking for models based on PVA / MVA / IPS panel technologies and avoid TN Film models. The viewing angles are much wider and movie playback is generally a lot less noisy as well, compared with modern heavily overdriven TN models. All those mentioned above are non-TN Film as well.
the dell 2005fpw has to many know faults for my liking e.g backlight bleeding. i was wondering if you could tell me what the 2405fpw is like for watching DVDs and playing games i was thinking about his monitor because of all the features on it and it will be even better when the new one comes out as it will bump the price down of the old one (hopefully)
on second thoughts i think i will pass as i just found out it uses a samsung pannel and i know for a fact that samsung pva pannels arnt to good for DVDs
